The Library of Congress (www.loc.gov) commissioned the archive and organized its collection and development. The Internet Archive (www.archive.org) archived the web sites. WebArchivist.org (www.webarchivist.org) developed the september11.archive.org web site, identified web materials to be preserved in the collection, and generates data about the web sites in the archive.
